Alpaca Meet and Greet

A unique opportunity to meet our friendly boys up close.

During this session there will be the opportunity to learn about alpacas, how we take care of them, what we do with their fleece and how to get the most out of an interaction with them.

Alpacas can be very timid and shy but we can show you how we interact with them in a way that allows us to get up close, enjoy a stroke with them and maybe even get the absolute treat of a nose to nose greeting.

This experience is suitable for all ages.

What To Expect

We will gather down at The Hideout for a short welcome, introduction and health and safety briefing.

Our boys will be waiting to meet you in their large handling pen where they will be happily grazing and munching on grass together.

We will introduce you to each of the alpacas so that you can get to know their names, a little about their unique characters and the herd structure and dynamics.

We'll share some facts and information about alpacas as well as answering any of the questions you may have.

We will then demonstrate the way in which alpacas enjoy being interacted with, showing you techniques from our gentle, respectful handling approach (CameliDynamics) so that you can come into the pen one at a time to meet them and enjoy a stroke.

Hot drinks, hand washing and bathroom facilities available at The Hideout.
