In Paddock Alpaca Experience
A unique opportunity to meet our alpacas up close.
Educational, informative, calming and fun, this session is an opportunity to learn about the alpacas and how we take care of them as you sit together with them in their paddock which often leads to lots of very up close experiences.
This experience is suitable for all ages.
Alpacas are incredibly curios creatures and our calm presence in the paddock often prompts a gentle enquiry from them. They may come over for a closer inspection and (if you’re lucky!) you might even get a little sniff or the initiation of a nose to nose greeting.

What To Expect
We will gather down at The Hideout for a short welcome, introduction and health and safety briefing.
We will then head up to the paddock together to begin our session.
You can use either a camp chair or carpet square (provided) to sit in the paddock.
You will be introduced to each of the alpacas, getting to know their names and a little about each of their unique characters and the herd structure and dynamics.
We'll share some facts and information about alpacas as well as answering any of the questions you may have and offering insights into how you can get the most out of your time with the alpacas.
At certain times of year we offer an opportunity to feed the girls willow towards the end of the session. A real treat for them and us!
Hand washing and bathroom facilities available at The Hideout.

Details:
Duration: 75 mins
Facilities: Composting toilets, hand washing.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes/boot and long trousers and dress for the weather.
Rugs/camping chairs provided.
The farm is not yet fully wheelchair accessible and some areas have uneven ground. We are always happy to discuss individual accessibility needs and explore whether we can adapt an experience to make a visit possible.
Biosecurity: as you'll be entering the paddocks for this session please ensure your boots and clean to avoid bringing any infectious diseases from other farms. We can provide shoe covers where needed, please ask.
