First Aid Policy – Hideaway Wood Farm

Our Appointed Person for all first aid matters is Amy Saunders, in her absence Carly Chandler-Morris acts as Deputy.

Amy and Carly are both Emergency First Aid at Work Trained, which we have deemed suitable level of training for our relatively low risk farm activities.
​
Amy and Carly are responsible for our first aid arrangements including:
a) compiling a First Aid Needs and Risk Assessments.
b) ensuring we always have adequately trained personnel on site and that their training is up-to-date and at an appropriate level.
c) maintaining and keeping stocked the First Aid equipment.
d) displaying a list of First Aid personnel and certificates in a prominent place.
e) calling the Emergency Services when required.

During the induction process conducted by Amy and/or Carly (as applicable):

All staff and volunteers will be shown the location of the First Aid kit in the Hideout.

All staff and volunteers are to be briefed on how to remain safe at work and our First Aid Policy and Health and Safety Policy.

All staff and volunteers will be asked to report any incidents, or accidents, plus any risks they have identified (no matter how minor they think they might be).

The location of the accident book is in the Hideout and this will be discussed with staff and volunteers.
