Alpacas for Sale

At Hideaway Wood Farm our focus is on breeding and caring for healthy, happy alpacas in a natural and respectful way.

We have a herd of 35 alpacas, many of which were born here on the farm.

In terms of breeding, our focus is not on line breeding or breeding for particularly desirable traits as we know the trends are always changing and that some traits can end up not being the best for the health of our alpacas. Instead we breed our animals with a focus on them being healthy and behaviourally well natured.

In recent years we have bred from our 'grey' stud Phineas and welcomed many patchy, grey and multi cria to our herd.

In terms of handling, we have been moving in the direction of CameliDynamics handling and training for our whole herd.

And in terms of husbandry we are always seeking to incorporate more natural ways of taking care of our alpacas, removing unnecessary chemicals and supporting them through natural treatments and remedies wherever possible.

Please note, alpacas are herd animals and need to live in groups of at least three. We are happy to advise on and support with alpaca keeping as part of the sales process.

We can also offer stud services with our proven grey stud, Phineas, if you have female alpacas requiring mating.

Not only are alpacas peaceful and great fun and very calming to be around but they also help with our land management efforts and produce fantastic manure, which when composted we give back to the land to improve our soils. We also plan on using the manure as a renewable energy source.
